Sostenplas at FIP 2026: four days with France’s plastics converters

Lyon, 9 June 2026 — Sostenplas exhibited at FIP 2026 (France Innovation Plasturgie), held from 2 to 5 June at Eurexpo Lyon. Across the four days of the show we welcomed customers, prospects and partners at stand H33.

FIP is the reference event for the French plastics industry: around 800 exhibitors and more than 10,000 visitors gather in Lyon every two years. For a recycler supplying the French market, it is the week when a large part of the customer base walks down the same aisle.

Time with our French customers

Most of our conversations were with injection moulders and other converters — the companies that turn our pellets into finished parts. Those discussions are refreshingly concrete: melt flow index, impact resistance, colour consistency from batch to batch, and how quickly a grade can be qualified on tooling that is already running.

Meeting face to face changes the nature of that conversation. A technical datasheet answers some of the questions; a sample in your hand, next to the part it is meant to become, answers the rest.

And with the wider sector

We also spent time with peers from across the industry — compounders, machinery manufacturers and other recyclers working on the same problems. In plastics recycling, competitors and collaborators are often the same people: the technical barriers are shared, and so is the regulatory ground we all stand on.

What we showed

The stand was built around our three recycled grades, all recovered from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE):

• SOSTELAC — recycled ABS, for structural and aesthetic applications
• SOSTYROL — recycled polystyrene
• SOSTELEN — recycled polypropylene

Alongside them, the part of the process customers ask about most: how we separate, purify and compound WEEE plastics to a specification that holds from one delivery to the next.

What we are taking home

Two themes came up again and again. The first is recycled content: converters are being asked by their own customers to raise the recycled percentage in their parts, and they need a supplier who can hold a specification rather than just a price. The second is traceability — knowing where a material comes from, and being able to document it.

Neither is new to us. They are the reasons the company is built the way it is. But hearing them repeated for four days by the people who buy our material is a useful reminder of where to put the effort.
