The Journey of ABS: From Electronic Waste to a New Recycled Material

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is the plastic that powers much of our digital lives: computer housings, TVs, printers, game consoles… Every day, thousands of tons of this material reach their end of life as electronic waste.

At Sostenplas, we believe that’s not the end of its story—but the beginning of a new one.

How We Give ABS a Second Life

Recycling ABS requires technical precision:

  • Selective separation of plastics from WEEE using advanced technology.
  • Grinding and washing to remove impurities and contaminants.
  • Extrusion and pelletizing to produce recycled ABS pellets (rABS) with stable properties.
  • Quality control under international standards (ISO, RecyClass, WEEELABEX).

This way, we transform a complex waste stream into a high-performance recycled plastic.

A Material With a Future

Recycled ABS from Sostenplas is reintroduced into industry as if it had never been waste: automotive parts, appliance housings, components for 3D printing. Every kilo recycled means less oil extracted and fewer CO₂ emissions.

ABS has many lives. At Sostenplas, we make sure it keeps living them.
